Pre-Professional Experience

·         Internship – University of Missouri – January 2010 – May 2010

o    Completed special projects as assigned by the Director of the Student Recreation Center

·         Member of the Team Mizzou Advisory Council

o    Student representative on a council consisting of student-elected and student-appointed lead staff members

o    Served as a liaison between student and professional staff members

·         Swim Lesson Lead Instructor

o    Scheduled, prepared, and executed group and private swim lessons to patrons ranging from six months to adults

·         Aquatic Event Lead

o    Managed events ranging from the Missouri Grand Prix to NCAA Big XII swim meets where duties involved security, sales of merchandise, distributed awards, cleaned and maintained hospitality areas, met management activities, setup, and teardown, and handled contingencies in a high stress atmosphere

·         Event Lead

o    Worked non-aquatic events such as cheer camps, pool and facility rentals,  and student organization run events where duties included set up, security, and teardown

·         Selection and Recruitment Team

o    Led several presentations to potential employees, interviewed fellow students as possible new hires in a peer-based setting, as well as being selected to interview potential professional staff employees

·         Brewer Station Service Attendant

o    Assisted with checking out equipment, laundry, and provided quality customer service to patrons who visited and utilized the student recreation complex

·         Jungle Gym/Pump Room Attendant

o    Maintained cardio and weight equipment, enforced guidelines, provided member services, and kept areas clean and organized

·         Tutor, Total Person Program-University of Missouri Athletic Department

o    Recommended for and selected to act as a tutor and mentor to student-athletes at the University of Missouri

o    Duties included one-on-one sessions with athletes, worked on assignments, prepared for tests, and organized all class work and due dates for student athletes, as well as participated in all required NCAA compliance sessions
